Pancakes - For Kids of All Ages

This recipe isn’t all that unique but the results are pretty welcome by kids of all ages and Mrs. Chef is a big kid (just one of the many reasons I love her). This is another one of Granny’s concoctions.

Ingredients

1 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a 2 qt bowl mix milk, egg, vegetable oil and vanilla extract
In another bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Mix dry and wet ingredients together
Heat greased fry pan to medium/high
Use a turkey baster to make eyes, nose and mouth and allow to cook for 30-45 seconds
Pour 1/4 cup batter over face and cook for 1-2 minutes until edges appear to harden
Turn over cake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until both sides are golden brown
Serve with butter and syrup

Recipe makes approx. ten 4-5 inch pancakes
